College of Education for Human Sciences

The College of Education, which was affiliated with the University of Al-Qadisiyah, was established at the beginning of the academic year 1996/1997. Its academic journey began with the opening of three scientific departments: the Department of Arabic Language, the Department of History, and the Department of Geography, with a teaching staff of 23, administrative staff of 35, and a student body of 457. In the academic year 1997/1998, two more departments were opened: the Department of English Language and the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, along with the introduction of evening classes. In the academic year 1999/2000, a department was opened, which was later converted into the College of Science. The college continued to expand, as in the academic year 2002/2003, the Master's program in History was introduced after all necessary resources became available. The college continued to evolve and expand in all areas, with the establishment of the Department of Physical Education in the academic year 2006/2007, which later became a standalone college. In the academic year 2009/2010, the Department of Quranic Sciences was established, followed by the establishment of the Departments of Mathematics and Life Sciences in the academic year 2012/2013, resulting in the College of Education. Today, it comprises nine scientific departments: the Department of Arabic Language, the Department of Geography, the Department of History, the Department of English Language, the Department of Quranic Sciences, the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences. In the academic year 2013/2014, two additional departments were opened in the Aziziyah district, affiliated with the college: the Department of Arabic Language and the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences.
